Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for Mr. Solar Doc
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Terms of Use
1. About the Service
Mr. Solar Doc is a digital calculation and information tool for solar energy.
Results are based on the data entered by the user, available external data, and the assumptions and calculation models used in the service.
Results should be regarded as estimates. Actual outcomes may differ.
Mr. Solar Doc is provided by Shining Days AB, Sweden.
2. Solar Production
Estimated solar production is based on factors such as geographic location, solar irradiation data, roof orientation and pitch, and technical assumptions.
Actual production may be affected by, for example:
- weather variations
- local shading
- temperature
- snow and soiling
- system design
- component choice
- system losses
- downtime
- degradation over time
Mr. Solar Doc does not guarantee any specific future solar production.
3. Financial Calculations
Financial results, savings, payback periods, and long-term forecasts are based on assumptions that may change over time.
This includes electricity prices, feed-in tariffs, grid fees, taxes, subsidies, production, and the user’s electricity consumption.
Calculated financial outcomes are therefore not a guarantee of future savings or return.
4. Recommended System Size
The recommended solar panel system size is an estimate based on the data and technical assumptions used in the calculation.
The recommendation does not constitute a technical design or project planning document.
The actual conditions of the roof, load-bearing capacity, available area, shading, electrical system, and other technical circumstances must be assessed before installation.
5. Grid Connection and Main Fuse
Calculations of possible inverter output and system size do not mean that the corresponding output may automatically be connected to the grid.
The actual permitted connection and feed-in output is determined by the grid operator and may be affected by local grid conditions and technical requirements.
6. Not a Quote or Professional Advice
Results and reports from Mr. Solar Doc do not constitute a quote, guarantee, technical design, or binding financial advice.
Before making decisions about installation or investment, actual technical and financial conditions should be verified with a relevant installer, grid operator, or other qualified party.
7. Liability
Mr. Solar Doc is intended to be used as a guiding decision-making tool.
Mr. Solar Doc is not responsible for ensuring that a calculated result exactly corresponds to future production, costs, savings, or other actual outcomes.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service provider is not liable for indirect financial losses arising from decisions made solely based on calculations in Mr. Solar Doc.
Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that may not be limited under mandatory law.
Privacy Policy
1. Data Used in the Calculation
To perform a solar energy calculation, you may enter data such as:
- address or location
- electricity consumption
- main fuse rating
- roof pitch and orientation
- electricity prices and other financial assumptions
The data is used to perform the calculation you request.
Mr. Solar Doc does not store this data in any user database.
If calculations are saved in the app’s history, they are stored locally on the user’s device and are not sent to the service provider for permanent storage.
2. External Data Services
External data services are used to perform certain parts of the calculation.
Mr. Solar Doc may use, for example:
- Nominatim/OpenStreetMap for address search and geocoding
- PVGIS, provided by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, for solar irradiation and production data
- OpenStreetMap for map display
When using these services, an entered address or geographic coordinates may be sent to the respective service to perform the function requested by the user.
Electricity consumption, main fuse rating, financial assumptions, and calculation results are not sent to these services.
External service providers may process technical information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
3. In-App Purchases
Purchases in the iOS app are handled through Apple In-App Purchase.
Apple processes the payment. Mr. Solar Doc does not have access to your card or payment details.
To verify and register a purchase, certain technical transaction information may be processed and stored, for example:
- transaction ID
- product ID
- purchase status
- time of purchase
- price and currency
- technical information required to verify the purchase with Apple
The information is used to verify payment and determine whether the purchased feature should be unlocked.
Calculation data such as address, electricity consumption, roof details, or financial assumptions are not stored together with purchase information.
4. Location Information
Mr. Solar Doc may use an address or geographic position to calculate the solar energy conditions for a selected location.
Location information is used for the current calculation and may be sent to relevant map, address, and solar energy data services when required for the function.
Mr. Solar Doc does not store the user’s location information in any user database and does not use it to track the user’s movements or create a history of the user’s position.
5. Documents and Consumption Files
If you use the feature to import electricity consumption from a file, the file is processed locally on your device.
The file is not uploaded to Mr. Solar Doc and is not stored on our servers.
Only the data extracted from the file by the app is used in the local calculation.
6. Sharing and Sale of Personal Data
Mr. Solar Doc does not sell users’ personal data.
Information may be transferred to external service providers when necessary to perform a function requested by the user, such as address search, map display, solar irradiation calculation, or payment handling.
7. Your Rights
You can contact us if you have questions about how Mr. Solar Doc handles personal data.
Since Mr. Solar Doc does not create a user database with the data entered for the solar energy calculation, there are normally no such calculation data stored by us to retrieve or delete.
However, technical transaction information related to purchases may be stored to verify and administer completed purchases.
8. Changes
These terms of use and this privacy policy may be updated if Mr. Solar Doc changes, new features are introduced, or the handling of information changes.
The latest version is published on this page.
